The Whole Athlete Program

A development program for hitters, created by Jayce Boyd, a former professional baseball player and FSU All-American, built to give real talent the identity, the mindset, and the recruiting plan to play at their highest level.

The Philosophy

You are not your batting average.

Jayce spent most of his life chasing one identity: baseball player. FSU All-American, drafted by the Mets, playing alongside the best players of his era. Then, the way it goes for almost everyone eventually, it stopped, and no one had helped teach him a way to make decisions once that identity wasn’t the whole story anymore.

The mechanics are the byproduct. The person underneath them is the point.

The mechanics are the byproduct. The person underneath them is the point.

That gap is exactly what Boyd Development Systems is built to close. Jayce spent the years since rebuilding that sense of identity for himself, and decided the next chapter of his career wasn’t going to be about producing better swings. It was going to be about making sure the athletes he works with never have to go through that alone.

He walks through that work prayerfully, trying to follow whatever direction God has for him next, and that’s the foundation everything else in this program is built on.

Before Jayce ever talks swing mechanics with an athlete, he takes the time to understand what they actually value, so the program gets built around who they are, not just how they hit.

“My goal isn’t an athlete who depends on me. It’s one who walks away able to own their own development, long after the program ends.”

The Program

Round the bases. Build the loop.

Round the bases. Build the loop.

The Whole Athlete Program runs on a simple circuit: four stops, always in this order, built to be run again as you grow.

It’s built for hitters who already have real skill and real love for the game, but feel a little lost on how to turn that into something bigger.

The mechanical work Jayce genuinely loves getting into, swing, approach, timing, built as the natural byproduct of everything established at first and second base.

Support through the recruiting process itself: learning to communicate with coaches, weigh real fit over name recognition, and handle rejection without losing perspective.

About Jayce

Faith, family, and a love for the game.

Faith, family, and a love for the game.

Jayce Boyd played hitting at the highest levels of amateur and professional baseball: a 1st Team All-American at Florida State, a 6th-round pick by the New York Mets, and a professional who played alongside the best players of his era.

What that transition actually looked like wasn’t a quick pivot. It was a slower, harder process of figuring out who he was without a jersey, a stat line, or a locker to walk into. Faith became the thing he kept coming back to, not as an answer that arrived all at once, but as a daily practice: staying honest about where he actually was, and trusting the direction would get clearer even when it wasn’t yet.

What he found along the way became his calling: helping athletes build that same foundation before they ever have to ask the question alone.

Becoming a father has given him a closer look at how identity gets built, and a clearer sense of the purpose he’s trying to live out every day.
